Key West Private Group Charters & Adventures
Your boat, your people, your day. Tell Rio what you're celebrating.
Captain Rio's Charters offers fully customised private group charters from Key West for up to 6 guests plus the captain, at flat rates from $500 for 2 hours to $1,700 for a full 8-hour day. Groups can combine fishing, spearfishing, snorkelling, sandbars, lobstering and sunset in a single trip.
The experience
What the day actually looks like
The single best thing about a small private boat is that nobody has to agree on one activity. Half your group wants to fish, two people want to snorkel, and somebody just wants to sit on the bow with a drink and not be spoken to. All of that is one trip.
Rio builds the day around whatever you're actually there for. Bachelor and bachelorette parties, family reunions where the age range runs from seven to seventy, corporate outings, birthdays, anniversaries, or four friends who just want a boat for eight hours. Tell him what you're celebrating and he'll put a plan together.
The boat takes six guests plus the captain, with bow and stern seating, a cabin with shade for anyone who's had enough sun, a bathroom, and a cooler for whatever you bring aboard. Rates are flat per boat, so a group of six costs exactly the same as a group of two.

Rates
Flat rate. Never per person.
Whether there are two of you or six, the price is the price. That is the whole idea of a private boat.
All rates are flat per boat for up to 6 guests — never per person. Fuel is not included: consumption is tracked on every trip, and the fuel your charter uses is billed on top of the rate. This applies to every trip, inshore and offshore, with no exceptions. Gratuity is not included.
Questions
Key West Private Group Charters FAQ
How many people can come?
Up to 6 guests plus Captain Rio. The rate is flat per boat, so six people pay the same as two.
Can we mix activities in one trip?
Yes, and most groups do. A half or full day can combine fishing, snorkelling, a sandbar stop and a sunset run. Tell Rio what matters most and he'll order the day around it.
Do you take bachelor and bachelorette parties?
Regularly. A private boat is a much better venue than a crowded bar, and BYOB means you bring exactly what your group wants.
Is it suitable for a family with a wide age range?
Very. Because it's private, the pace is yours. There's shade and a bathroom for grandparents, and Rio is good with kids.
How far ahead should we book a group charter?
As early as you can, especially for high season, lobster mini-season and holiday weekends. There is one boat and Rio runs every trip himself.
